Daffodil bites
We have a pet hamster named Daffodil that we share with two other family. Each of the three girls get two weeks with Daffodil and then we trade off. This was Nicole's first turn with Daffodil. We have her for two days. The rule is that Nicole cannot take the hamster out of the cage without asking me first. Well, she broke the rule and took her out. Daffodil bit Nicole, Nicole dropped Daffodil and Daffodil was then loose in Nicole's messy room! I did find the hamster and get her back in her cage, but it was an interesting evening, lol. And we learned a very important lesson... Daffodil bites. Nicole is now crying (she has been for 30 mintues) and saying that Daffodil is a meanie hamster, lol.

About Mark...
There’s a meme going around blog world about husbands and I thought it might be kind of fun to answer the questions. For all of you who have no idea what a meme is … in the blogging world, it’s a series of questions that are posted on a blog and other bloggers read them and post their own answers on their own blog. Sometimes you can “tag” others to answer them, but I don’t do that because that reminds me too much of a chain letter.
here we go:
What is his name? Mark Philip
How long have you been married? 1 year 4 months
How long did you date? 3 weeks before he proposed and then we were engaged for a little less than a year.
How old is he? 23
Who eats more sweets? I DO
Who is taller? he is
Who can sing better? Mark can sing MUCH better than I can.
Who does the laundry? lately I do
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do
Who mows the lawn? We don't have a lawn
Who cooks dinner? cooks? what's that?
Who pays the bills? Mark does
Who drives? Mark does. I hate driving, it stresses me out
Who is more stubborn? I AM
Who kissed who first? he kissed me first
Who asked who out first? he asked me out
Who proposed? he did (after 3 weeks of dating)

3:00am and I can't sleep
It's 3am in the morning and I can't sleep (again). This is starting to become a routine for me. It makes it hard to wake up in the mornings, but still I like the quiet time. It gives me time to think. I'm sitting here thinking and brainstorming on future scrapbook layouts. I have so many ideas and projects that I want to start working on. I'd start now, but Mark is sleeping and I don't want to wake him.
So... what's new with us.
Nicole has another loose tooth, but it wont come out. A new tooth is growing in behind it (again) so back to the dentist we go this thursday to probably have two more teeth pulled. I suppose that means the tooth fairy will be flying by soon :o)
Nicole is doing well in school. I was worried about her reading skills, but her teacher assured me that Nicole is doing great. I had fun working with her on her homework tonight. She really did a great job with her spelling.
As for Mark, he is doing well. His company just moved into a new office this past weekend. It's a little closer to home, but that doesn't matter so much since he has been working from home the past 2 months. It's really REALLY nice having him work from home. He just finished working on Jewel Quest 2 for the i phone. Now he is working on a bowling game.
I am doing well myself. A little bored during the day now that Nicole's back in school, but I can always bug Mark, lol :o). I've been keeping myself busy volunteering at Nicole's school, cleaning house and scrapbooking. Scrapbooking is my favorite of course. My newest project is Charissa's pregnancy album.
other than that not much is new. I hope you all are doing well.
Hugs!

First day of 1st grade
Today was Nicole's first day of first day. She was nervous yesterday, but seemed excited today. Her new teachers are Ms. Schilling and Ms. Kaa. I’ve heard from several people that they are the best. I thought I would be worried about her today, but I’m not. I’m so proud of Nicole. She is growing up to be such a big girl. I know she’ll do great today and the rest of the school year. Her teacher was nice enough to let the parents in the classroom to look around while school was starting. Nicole was so cute at her desk sitting next to her friend Janelle. The kiss goodbye she gave me was exactly what I need to make it through my day.

The tooth fairy
The tooth fairy will be making a visit to the Troyer home this evening. Nicole lost her first two teeth. We actually had them pulled at the dentist today. She had a new tooth growing behind her baby teeth and they needed to make room. She did well having them pulled and she is now very excited that the tooth fairy will be coming.

Nicole's Tinkerbell Birthday Party
I remember when my little girl was a "little" girl. When she depended on me for everything, when she wasn't so out spoken and independent. I remember when she was my baby girl.
My daughter just had her 6Th birthday party with guest Tinkerbell! I'm constantly reminded how how big and grown up she is getting each year. She has so many friends! How did that happen? How did my little shy girl turn into a outgoing social butterfly?
Tinkerbell did a silly "fairy magic" show and face painting, it was a real hit. We ate mini cupcakes (lots of them, lol) and goldfish crackers. We had 15 girls and everyone seemed to have a great time. Nicole LOVED being a princess on her special day and she LOVED that Tinkerbell was there! We had a blast

My new CUTE pen storage
I have been blessed to have such sweet men in my life. While my husband was busy painting my file cabinet in Grandpa's garage, my Grandpa was hard at work too.
I found a cute idea from the twoPeas site and decided I wanted my own cute pen storage. My Grandpa took 10 feet of 2inch PVC pipe and cut in down into 4 inch pieces. It was alot of work for him. THANKS GRANDPA!!
I cut out 4 x 10inch strips of paper. I adhered the patterned paper with spray adhesive, taped the ends and then glued the PVC pipes together with super glue plastic fusion. The back is chipboard. I traced, cut out and glued it for some backing
I made a mini one for Grandma too. She has less pens than I do. I really like the pink I used on hers. Hope she likes it too (She gets it this weekend).
